Bikemotion Show

The BMC Lamborghini collaboration…

not really my thing, this was more interesting, a BMC  “Time Machine”

brake housing …

The  thing I find off putting about the BMC’s with naked carbon is you see all the

carbon patched together, especially on the top tube, now you wouldn’t find that on my C50 .

2013  Colnago M10s…

the 2013 Colnago C59 Italia..

the colour scheme on this seems to pay homage to the lugging of the Arabesque

new headtube decal/logo as well

a new Colnago/Ferrari  collaboration…

and the Colnago Wold Cup CX,

Look with a stunning head tube…

I just had to turn it…

Cinelli were present also, with a new twist on the legendary Laser

De Rosa, with some interesting contemporary  steel frames

And Somec…

Good to see some proper steel bikes still being made available.

Master Disaster!

The chain seized up and caused the rear derailleur to shear off

oh calamity!!!

there is a crack/tear around left of where the hanger is brazed on to the drop out

the color scheme is very similar to the 30th anniversary edition  available currently.

I’m thinking of contacting the factory to plead and offer any organ

that I have two of to see if they can help me.

Apparently it has happened to a million road bikes

it’s happened to two of mine

ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got it fixed, TIG welded

by an amazing stoke of good fortune, I manage to find one in the same size and color scheme about a

week after the tear, it’s a ’96 model, the tubes are a little wider,

and with lugging on the seat post insert, it feels stiffer to.

I’m cleaning up the weld area, and inserting a helicoil into

the old frameset, then it will enter into the stock list

E Voila!

I sold it and shipped it to Japan.

Eddy Merckx Karel Mintjens Strada Frameset

Quite a rare piece, on a Google search I found the following  link

http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30501&start=15&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

here’s a quote

“Dear Mr. ,

My father, Karel Mintjens, was a fanatic biker. He inspired his youngest brother, who became pro- biker in the team from Eddy Merckx.(1969-1979)

My father and Eddy became good friends. When later, Karel started up a local team, everybody had to drive a “EDDY MERCKX” bike , personalized with our companies logo “Karel Mintjens”.

From those bikes, about 250 bikes where made, depending on the period, made from iron, aluminum, titan or carbon. We used to give them away to our customers on special occasions. Those bikes seemed to travel around the globe. I saw some pictures on the internet and if you google you can get more info about Eddy Merckx. Our website http://www.mintjens.be tells you more about our company.

If you have specific questions, I am glad to answer but I am not at all a technical guy about bikes so more about the bike itself I cannot give you but I am sure you can ask more info at “Eddy Merckx” company (http://www.eddymerckx.be)

Best regards,

Carl Mintjens “
